The EU AI Regulation: background and critical deadlines
The EU AI Act is the world’s first comprehensive regulation for artificial intelligence and sets new standards for safe, transparent and ethical AI systems. In force since 1 August 2024, the law follows a risk-based approach with clear deadlines that every company must keep in mind.

The regulation categorises AI systems according to risk levels, from prohibited practices and high-risk applications to systems with minimal risk. Particular attention is paid to general purpose AI models such as GPT-4, which are subject to specific requirements.
