ABB

Identity and Access Management Systems

Initial situation

ABB has initiated an IT transformation project aimed at designing and implementing a comprehensive, centralized, and sustainable identity and user access management solution. In addition to fulfilling security and regulatory requirements, this global solution is intended to integrate upstream systems as well as ICOFR-relevant applications and platforms.

AdEx Partners scope

AdEx Partners initiated, structured, and later led the project while continuously providing expertise in IAM processes.

AdEx Partners value add

Through problem analysis and the identification of current challenges, AdEx Partners significantly contributed to structuring the IAM topic, which served as a foundation for developing policies and principles. Different customer-oriented approaches were employed situationally (POC, pilot implementation), forming the basis for decision-making and the execution of subsequent phases. With a standardized and industrialized onboarding concept for applications (centralized management of permissions), AdEx Partners supported ABB in achieving reliable results in short cycles. Intensive stakeholder management was a key success factor in advancing standardization and meeting the diverse expectations for the IAM platform.

Stefan Lindner, Global Identity and Access Manager, ABB: „The collaboration with AdEx Partners on our IAM project was very trusting and productive. The team brought in both relevant IAM and project management expertise, which was a crucial success factor in guiding the IAM solution from conceptualization to go-live. Furthermore, they ensured the project’s success during the initial rollouts.“
