Interview: Insights into AdEx Partners – The secrets of Assessing Organizational Health
Johannes Nordhaus and René Kräling explain how the Organizational Health Assessment supports companies in successful transformations.
Johannes and René, it‘s great to have you here. Today we‘re talking about the Organizational Health Assessment. Johannes, can you explain to us what exactly that is and what it focuses on?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
Gladly! The Organizational Health Assessment serves to analyze the status quo of an organization, especially at the beginning of a transformation project. We look at various dimensions to understand how mature the organization is in areas such as agility and whether it is ready to embrace change.
René, how would you explain to a child in simple terms what an Organizational Health Assessment is?
AdEx Partners
René Kräling
I would say it‘s like a doctor‘s visit for an organization. When you feel unwell or are in pain, you go to the doctor, who then finds out where the problem lies. In the same way, the assessment helps to identify the pain points of an organization during a transformation so that targeted measures can be taken to tackle the problems at their root.
And what does that mean for companies in concrete terms? What added value does such an assessment offer?
AdEx Partners
René Kräling
The added value lies primarily in the fact that it reduces the risk of a transformation failing. The assessment requires relatively little effort, but provides valuable insights that help to avoid costly mistakes. Often, small measures are enough to achieve major improvements.
Which industries is the assessment mainly aimed at?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
We are very flexible and agnostic when it comes to industries. It is particularly relevant for organizations undergoing major transformation, such as the automotive industry, which is currently undergoing rapid electrification. But basically, every industry can benefit from an assessment.
Johannes, what does the assessment process at AdEx Partners look like?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
The process begins with qualitative interviews with key stakeholders. We then conduct quantitative surveys to obtain a comprehensive picture of the situation. The results are evaluated and visualized to help company management prioritize measures.
René, can you tell us about some successful use cases?
AdEx Partners
René Kräling
One example is a transformation in an IT organization with 800 employees. We analyzed all areas and provided the division managers with individual reports. Another example was an assessment for a company with critical SAP system failures, where we were able to identify the causes and derive targeted measures.
Johannes, would you like to add anything else about your experiences with use cases?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
I think René has summarized the key points well. There is a clear need in the market to analyze at an early stage whether an organization or project is on the right track.
Thank you, Johannes and René, for sharing your insights! It is exciting to see how important the Organizational Health Assessment is for companies to successfully shape their transformations.
