Interview insights into ADEX Partners secrets of evaluating organizational health
Johannes Nordhaus and René Kräling explain how the Organizational Health Assessment supports companies in successful transformations
Johannes and René, it's great that you're here. Today we are talking about the Organizational Health Assessment. Johannes, can you explain to us what that exactly is and what is examined in the process?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
Gladly! The Organizational Health Assessment serves to analyze the status quo of an organization, especially at the beginning of a transformation project. We look at various dimensions to understand how mature the organization is in areas like agility and whether it is ready to handle changes.
René, how would you explain in simple words to a child what an Organizational Health Assessment is?
AdEx Partners
René Kräling
I would say it is like a doctor's visit for an organization. When you feel unwell or are in pain, you go to the doctor, who then figures out where the problem lies. Similarly, the assessment helps identify an organization's pain points during a transformation so that targeted measures can be taken to tackle the problems at the root.
And what does that mean concretely for companies? What added value does such an assessment offer?
AdEx Partners
René Kräling
The added value lies primarily in the fact that it reduces the risk of a transformation failing. The assessment requires relatively little effort, yet delivers valuable insights that help avoid expensive mistakes. Often, small measures are enough to achieve major improvements.
Which industries is the assessment primarily aimed at?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
We are very flexible and industry-agnostic. It is particularly relevant for organizations undergoing major transformation, such as the automotive industry, which is currently undergoing heavy electrification. However, basically any industry can benefit from an assessment.
Johannes, what does the assessment process at AdEx Partners look like?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
The process begins with qualitative interviews with key stakeholders. After that, we conduct quantitative surveys to obtain a comprehensive picture of the situation. The results are analyzed and visualized to support corporate management in prioritizing measures.
René, can you tell us about some successful use cases?
AdEx Partners
René Kräling
An example is a transformation in an IT organization with 800 employees. We analyzed all departments and provided the department heads with individual reports. Another example was an assessment for a company with critical SAP system failures, where we were able to identify the causes and derive targeted measures.
Johannes, would you like to add anything else regarding the experiences with use cases?
AdEx Partners
Johannes Nordhaus
I think René summarized the key points well. There is a clear market need to analyze early on whether an organization or project is on the right track.
Thank you, Johannes and René, for your insights! It is exciting to see how important the Organizational Health Assessment is for companies to successfully shape their transformations.
